WoD - Monday 29th May 2017

 "Murph"

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

Monday 29th May - the gym will be open from 10am to 12pm with a WOD class at 11am due to it being a bank holiday 

 

Partner WOD  

For time: 

  • 200m Wheelbarrow Walk
  • 100 Toes to Bar  
  • 200m Farmers carry (32/24)
  • 100 Kettlebell Deadlift  (32/24)

Split the work between you with only one person working at a time. The wheelbarrow walks and farmers carrys will be completed in 20 10m shuttles.

Tabata is a total of 8 rounds of 20 seconds work 10 seconds rest.

WOD - Wednesday 24th May 2017

Part A - EMOM for 10 minutes

  • 3 - 5 Strict Handstand Push Ups

The idea is to build some strict pressing strength in the handstand, so scale as needed to allow a strict movement. This isn't just good in developing the handstand it will also transfer into your overhead lifts by improving strength, stability and midline strength. 

 

Part B - For Time:  

  • 40-30-20-10 Wall Balls (20/14) 
  • 20-15-10-5 Ring Dips 

I challenge you to do the wall balls unbroken!  

 

 

WOD - Tuesday 23rd May 2017

Part A  - 15 minute EMOM 

  • 1 Hang squat clean  

start light and build up through the 15 minutes ending with a 1 rep max  

   

Part B - 3 rounds for time: 

  • 7 hang squat cleans (75% of your 1RM) 
  • 21 pull ups
